With the Holidays rapidly approaching, I can’t help but revert back to my 5 year old self! Thanksgiving and Christmas time are my favorite times of the year. Yes summer is all fine and dandy, but there is nothing like the Holidays. My number one favorite thing about the Holidays is that I get to see my whole crazy family.
I once heard an anonymous quote, “Families are like fudge, mostly sweet with a few nuts.” I think this describes my family perfectly! Sometimes those nuts are exactly what you need after so much of that rich and sweet chocolate. This time of year always brings back such great memories bonding with my wonderful family.
Being from Chicago, you would think I would be used to the cold winters of the Midwest, but no thank you! In my opinion, there is one good thing about cold weather and that is that it forces you to do things with the people you are stuck in the house with. I have so many memories of my cousins and I building forts and making up imaginary games because we could not play outside. Even to this day I love all the interesting things my roommates and I do to entertain ourselves in the winter.
Lastly, I would just like to talk about one of the most beautiful words in the English dictionary, food! Thanksgiving and Christmas, for most people, bring the thought of great food into their minds. My Grandma is the one who does all the cooking on these Holidays in my family. I hope I can become the great cook she is on day!

I love the holidays as well, its one of my favorite times of the year. Most everyone is so happy and in high spirits. I absolutely agree with you one the food. I am looking forward to that the most! I feel like during the holidays I eat more and more and never stop.

“Families are like fudge, mostly sweet with a few nuts.” I love this quote because it reminds me of my family. Also, I think it is so cute that your mom dressed you and your sister like twins. My mom used to dress my sisters and I like twins too! I wish you and your family a great holiday season!
